The Anticipation of Christmas

Our focus of Christmas never changes.  The birth of our Saviour is forever ingrained in our hearts and minds.  

But no one can deny that there are other excitements that come during this Christmas season.

but we missed out on a lot of special time with extended family.  

This year we are back in Canada wrapping our heads around all the Christmas parties we are attending.  It can be overwhelming, but we get the opportunity to experience and develop memories that we were hoping the kids will appreciate.  To see and hear their excitement is heart-warming...and it isn't even Christmas yet.

One evening we went for a walk after dinner to admire the Christmas lights. As we walked our girls went on to sing for us and tell us stories of Christ's birth and about the events that occurred before his birth with Zachariah and the birth of John the Baptist.  They may be excited by all the events with family, but they are also excited to be celebrating the birth of Jesus, which is refreshing to hear.

It may not be Christmas yet, but the anticipation of Christmas is heightened more than ever this year, and we are thankful for that.

And we finally got snow!!

To our Canadian friends and family: we are blessed to be a part of the memories being created this year, and wish you a Blessed Christmas as well.  

May we all be thankful for our Saviour who was born, who lived, who suffered, and is coming again soon.
