The End

Three years ago we came to Indonesia with very little knowledge of what our experience would be like.  In three years we have grown to love this country and the people we have come to know.  There have been frustrating moments in learning to live in a culture that is different than ours, but we have learned that our way is not always the only way.

Even though there were struggles along the way, we can honestly say that the past three years have been amongst the most exciting years of our lives.  We had the opportunity to travel to different countries, meet interesting and amazing people, explore Indonesia, and put down roots in a place we never imagined ourselves in.

Saying goodbye has been difficult as all goodbyes are.  The people and friends we have in this community have been very special to us, especially in this past year, and we are going to miss the special connection in experiencing overseas life together.  Our hope and desire is that we will be able to see many of them again in this lifetime.  I am dreaming of a home with a guest room for all those who want to visit Canada someday.

We are blessed for having had the chance to live in Indonesia, for meeting many amazing friends, and for having a God that has watched over us the entire time.  God has been faithful!

As we move on to the next chapter in our lives, we want to thank our families for supporting us from afar, our Canadian friends for keeping in touch, and our expat friends for being there for us from the beginning and, more recently, carrying us through some of the most difficult months of our lives.
