Luang Prabang, Laos

After Vang Vieng we spent a week in Luang Prabang, a very pretty town with a lot of shops, restaurants and places to stay.  We stayed in town for a few nights, then spent time away in the mountains.

Paul got up early one morning to see the monks collecting their daily alms.  This is a tradition they do every morning as the sun rises.

  Paul says he's going to construct a Bamboo Christmas tree like this next year.

Day Trip to a Nearby Waterfall   

 So proud of Alana for jumping from this height.  After the first jump, the people watching clapped for her.  She jumped a few more times after that.

 Our kids were the only kids to climb to the very top of the waterfall.

 It was worth the hike up.  Absolutely stunning and so peaceful.

Our Stay in the Mountains

 The first day was spent just chill'n around the beautiful grounds.  Vince spent his entire day sitting and playing with the fire... safely of course.  We love our campfires, and we spent a lot of time around the fire, including New Years Eve with a group from Germany.

4 Hour Hike... yes, I said 4!

  These spider webs were all over the place.  So cool to see the construction of them.

 As you can see, someone had to be tied up to a vine in order to keep up on our FOUR hour hike.  This was very effective for some time.

 The waterfall at the end of the trail made it a worthwhile hike... plus all the beautiful things we saw along the way and the time we spent together.

New Year's Eve

not everyone was thrilled about that.

 We visited a school yard where these kids were on break.  As we continued on our walk they kept following us, so much so that we doubted they were going to go back to school.

 Every hotel/lodging should have a games room where families can play together.  

We spent a lot of time together in this room.

A delayed flight meant many hours in the airport, but we did make it to Cambodia eventually.
